Are there temporary storage lockers on campus that I can use?
There are free daytime storage lockers available for you to use on the university campus. They are located in the Library and Learning Centre (ground floor), in the MySurrey Nest, in Wates House (ground floor entrance) and in the Students’ Union building (Rubix reception area).
You can set the code for the locker yourself, no coins or keys are required. Storage items should be removed from the lockers by 10pm. The lockers are set to automatically disable (and open) every evening at 10pm.
Instructions for using the lockers are given below.
Find an empty locker
If the LED on the locker is not flashing, the lock is unlocked and the locker should be free to use.
To lock the locker
Touch “START” on the bottom left corner of keypad. The LED on the Lock (upper right) will flash “Green” and make an audible tone (“beep”) to indicate a successful “key press”.
Enter your 4 digit code, for example 1-2-3-4. With each number selection, the LED will flash “Green” and an audible tone will be heard.
Touch the “LOCK” icon on the bottom right corner of keypad. The LED on the Lock will flash “Green” and an audible tone will be heard.
The locker is now locked. The LED will flash every second to tell users the lock/locker is “IN USE”.
To un-lock the locker
Repeat the steps above, with the same code entered to lock the lock:
Touch “START”, enter your 4 digit code - the LED flash and audible tone with each successful key touch
Touch the “LOCK” icon.
The locker is now unlocked
If you experience any problems using the lockers and cannot open the locker you can contact Campus Safety who will be able to reset the lockers.
