Can I log my extramural studies (EMS) placement in my Student Experience Log (SEL) after it has been completed?
If you are undertaking an extramural studies (EMS) placement, this must be logged on your Student Experience Log (SEL) in advance of the start date. For safeguarding purposes we must know where our students will be located and planning to be on placement so retrospective placement confirmation goes against this. Therefore, the Vet Placements team will not approve Student Experience Log (SEL) EMS entries retrospectively unless there are exceptional circumstances why these were not logged in advance of the placement start date.
If you do wish to request placement confirmation be considered after the date which the placement started then you need to email the Vet Placements team, and they will consider these requests on a case by case basis.
