How can I get feedback?
Coursework feedback
You should receive coursework feedback within three semester weeks of the submission date for all formally assessed (‘summative’) work.
- You will receive a mark and normally receive written comments on your work. If you do not understand the written comments you receive, or want further explanation, you should ask to discuss this with your lecturer.
- Sometimes lecturers might choose to give different forms of feedback e.g. detailed marking grid, feedback session, podcast etc. Please check with your lecturer or module leader so that you are clear on what to expect.
- If you have any queries about your feedback or have not received it by the deadline specified the MySurrey Hive team via Surrey Support, who will look into this for you. You will need to select "My Course" as your enquiry topic.
Exam feedback
For exams, you will not be given your script back, however you are still entitled to feedback on your performance, this may be personal and/or generic. Please discuss this with your module leader.
You may request to have sight of your exam scripts if required. You will need to contact your module leader who will arrange for your exam script to be available, and they will arrange a meeting to go through it with you. You will not be sent or provided a copy of your exam script to keep.
University marking process
The University has a 13-step process that is followed when marking all of your work. For more information please visit our exam and assessment pages.
