How do I collect my campus card when I arrive at University?

When you arrive on campus, you will need to collect your campus card. Your campus card is your personalised ID to prove that you are a Surrey student, but it also gets you access to the Library and other campus spaces, plus unlocks discounts in a range of stores and retailers. Therefore, we recommend you collect your campus card as soon as possible.

Collecting your card is a quick, simple process. When you can collect your campus card will depend on when you completed online registration AND when the photo for your campus card was approved.

You will know when your campus card photo has been approved as you will receive an email confirmation.

If you are a new student moving into university accommodation during our Welcome Weekend, your new campus card can be collected at the same time that you collect your room keys. Please be ready to show us your arrival letter (you will have been sent this by email) and a form of photo ID.

If you are a new student arriving during Welcome Week (after the Welcome Weekend) you will be able to collect your campus card from the MySurrey Hive on the Stag Hill campus (between 10am and 4pm). Please be ready to show us your campus card confirmation email and a form of photo ID.

If you are a new student and are collecting your card after Welcome Week, your card will be available for collection from the MySurrey Hive on the Stag Hill campus, with the exception of students residing at Manor Park, whose cards will be held by the MySurrey Hive at Manor Park. Please be ready to show us your arrival letter (you will have been sent this by email) and a form of photo ID when you collect your card.

If you are a new student and have missed the deadline to upload your photo, were not asked to provide a photo, there was an issue uploading your photo, or you're joining mid-way through the academic year, you must request your card through the Campus Card Portal. You will then be emailed confirmation of when your campus card is ready and it can then be collected from the MySurrey Hive location that you selected when you made your request. Please be ready to show us your campus card confirmation email and a form of photo ID.

Please note, if you are a new postgraduate research (PGR) student, there are separate arrangements for collecting your campus card so please refer to the email you have been sent about creating an IT account and pre-registering.For further information, please visit our Campus card collection page.
