How do I submit my assignment?
You are usually required to submit all of your coursework files into the submission folder that is provided on the relevant SurreyLearn module page. These folders will clearly display the deadline for the assignments. If you have confirmed extenuating circumstances, the deadline will be updated to reflect this.
All graded assessments are subject to anonymous marking so do not include your name or University registration number in your submissions content or within the filenames.
You should submit all the required files into the submission as follows:
- From within the relevant module page, select ‘Assessments’ from the menu at the top of the page, and then select ‘Assignments’.
- Select the relevant assignment submission folder from the list by clicking into it
- Review the ‘File Submissions’ guidance and instructions provided
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page and select ‘Add file(s) to submission’
- In the pop-up window that appears, select where you would like to upload your coursework files from. This is usually ‘My Computer’
- Either drag and drop all the required files from your machine directly into the box, or select ‘Upload File(s)’, and select the file(s) to be uploaded, and click ‘Open’.
- Once all of the required files have been chosen, click on the ‘Add’ button
- You can then select the ‘Submit’ button
- You should then review the assignment confirmation message on the screen. Click ‘Yes’ to confirm that you agree or ‘No’ to cancel the submission.
- If you click ‘Yes’, the ‘Submission successful’ message should appear. You will also receive an email to your university email account confirming the date and time of submission (as well as the module, assignment folder and the files submitted).
- Select ‘Done’ to complete the process
Unless otherwise stipulated by your module tutor, standard file formats for submission are .doc, .docx, .pdf, .ppt and .pptx. Please be aware that .wps, .pages, .gdoc and .dotx files are not acceptable formats. Submitted Word, PDF or PowerPoint based documents should be of a file size less that 100Mb.
You can also view the assignment’s Submission History to view the files that have been uploaded to double check that the correct file(s) have been uploaded and submitted successfully. Please see our advice if you think you have submitted your file to the wrong submission folder, submitted the wrong coursework file, or if you want to resubmit another version of your coursework.
