I am currently on a study or work programme abroad and have an emergency, what support can I access?

If you find yourself in an emergency situation, use the contacts on your ‘Emergency Contacts List’ in the first instance.

If you have further concerns you can contact the International Engagement Office (IEO) by email or if it is out of our office hours, you can contact the Surrey Campus Safety Team on +44 1483 683333.

If a major incident occurs, you must follow guidance from your host organisation or local government.

We may contact you in the event of a serious incident to check that you are safe.  We are aware that many students spend their spare time travelling so don't be alarmed if we check in with you and you are not studying or working when the incident takes place. We do this as a precaution and we will contact you on your Surrey email address so please respond promptly.
