I cannot afford to buy books for my course
You should not need to purchase core learning materials for your course.
You can check your module online reading lists for your core reading material — these books are often available digitally or in print via the Library.
You can search the Library’s collections using SurreySearch to find copies of these books and to access the full range of collections available through the Library.
If the Library does not have access to the core teaching or research materials, you need you can contact your Faculty librarian by email.
For wider reading materials you may be able to use the InterLibrary Loan service to request the item from another library. The InterLibrary Loan service is available to all University of Surrey students. Please note there are limits on the number of interlibrary loans we can supply to you each academic year.
You may like to look for second-hand items (e.g., previous students’ copies, discount bookshops, online marketplaces) to save money
If you need further help, please send your questions to the Library team via SurreySupport or in person at the Library Welcome Desk (Level 1) of the Library.
If you are unable to access Surrey Support, please contact us via our enquiry form.
