What happens during my graduation ceremony?
Once you are seated in the Cathedral and after the fanfare and procession has taken place, you will be guided to the stage by a member of the staff when it is your turn. When your name is announced, you will walk across the stage to receive your certificate and shake hands with (or doff your cap to) the presiding officer and representative of your school. Once you leave the stage you will be handed your certificate (if you haven't already received it), have a photograph taken and then return to your seat. During the ceremony there will also be speeches from guest speakers and from a fellow graduate. For more information please visit our Graduation webpages.
