What is the Professional Skills Award?
The Professional Skills Award is an online programme available via Pathfinder. The Award is designed to help you gain recognition for any activities that develop your employability skills. It also helps you to prepare for future applications and be ready to articulate your skills in front of employers. Whilst you can self-manage your progress online, you are encouraged to engage in activities, such as work experience, volunteering and active interests. The Award consists of eight modules and will take around 70 hours to complete, although you can work on the programme throughout your time at Surrey. If you complete the Award before the end of May in your Final Year, it will appear on your HEAR. It will also be a great addition to your CV!
You can find out more by visiting the Professional Skills Award page and logging into the programme to make a start via Pathfinder. The 'Getting Started' module includes an 'Award Guidelines' video that clearly explains how to work your way through the modules.
If you experience any technical issues, or would like to request adjustments to engage in the Award, please raise an enquiry with the MySurrey Hive team via Surrey Support, selecting "Employability and Careers" as your enquiry topic. A member of the Employabilty and Careers team will then be able to respond directly.
