Where should I store my files and documents?

You can store most University related material e.g. lecture notes, OneNote files and posters on OneDrive. All the data you store is encrypted and is visible only to you unless you choose to share it.  As part of your Office 365 account, you have access to 1TB of cloud storage using OneDrive.

As a reminder, do not store personal data such as photos and personal documents on your University OneDrive account as you will lose access when you leave the University. Any personal data is stored at your own risk as the University can monitor and access the data in your OneDrive account for the prevention, detection and investigation of crime or the unauthorised use of University systems.

We advise to always use University of Surrey provided file storage for your University work. We do not recommend using or purchasing external hard drives as a primary storage location. Please only use this option to transfer or back up data. This option is not backed up and can be stolen, lost or fail.
