Can the Centre for Wellbeing provide a student with supporting evidence for their Extenuating Circumstance application?
There are times when a student’s mental health difficulties will impact on their ability to perform in an exam or complete a piece of coursework to the best of their academic ability. If a student is currently engaging with support from the Centre for Wellbeing, or has done within the last two months, Centre for Wellbeing staff may be able to provide written evidence for that student in support of their application for extenuating circumstances (ECs). They should make an appointment to see the adviser or counsellor who they have been seeing.
If a student has never been known to the Centre for Wellbeing, or has not been in contact with us for more than two months, we are unlikely to be able to provide supporting evidence. In these circumstances the student should approach their GP.
Please note: the Centre for Wellbeing is not able to provide supporting evidence once results have been released.
