Can I change a module?
You can request to change a module in the first two weeks of each semester. The request to change modules is made through the "Module Registration" tab on Student Self-Service.
Your request will be reviewed and will only be authorised if there is capacity on the module you want to move to, and if there are no timetabling clashes with your existing module selections. You will be contacted by week three of teaching to confirm either if your module change has been approved or denied .
Any requests to change modules after the two-week deadline must be submitted via the extenuating circumstances (EC) form on Surrey Self-Service. You will need to explain why you missed the deadline and why you should be allowed to change modules. ECs must be submitted with formal evidence such as a doctor's letter.
EC outcomes are not guaranteed as agreed. Please note even if your EC is approved, your late module change request is still subject to timetable and capacity checks.
If you have any specific questions, the MySurrey Hive team can advise. You can send them your questions via Surrey Support, please select "My Course" as your enquiry topic.
