Can I change my seminar group?

If you want to change to a different seminar group for one of your modules, you can request a change. This should be done within the first two weeks of the semester (exceptionally, for the Semester 2 period of academic year 2024/25, requests will be considered from 6th January to 14th February). 

Your request should outline one of the issues below that would make attending your allocated seminar group difficult: 

• Medical reasons (regular medical appointments)
• Religion (i.e. prayer time)
• Commuting*
• Childcare commitments
• Elite sports

* Requests based on commuting distance will be verified by the student’s registered address. Applications from students living within a 10-mile radius of the campus will generally be rejected, except in cases of exceptional circumstances, such as a disability.

You should make the reason for your request clear as part of your request and send this to us by raising a support request with the MySurrey Hive team via Surrey Support. Please put “My Course” as the enquiry topic.
