Can I change rooms?

In the event that you are unhappy with your room, there are a number of options available to you.

You may want to opt for a room swap. You can find others wishing to swap on the Accommodation Room Swap Teams Channel where you and others can post details of your swap. On this channel you will also find the Request a Room Swap form that both of you need to complete. This way you give consent that you both would like to swap rooms. You should then send this completed form to the MySurrey Hive team via Surrey Support and add "Accommodation" as your enquiry topic. 

Once Accommodation has received your room swap form, we will check if it is possible. Room swaps cannot take place unless they have been approved.

If you do not have another student who is happy to swap rooms with you, you can still make an application to change rooms by completing the Request a Room Swap form and we will consider your request.

If you have medical needs which are not being met by your accommodation, the Disability and Neuroinclusion team may assess your needs and support specific accommodation. You should complete the same Request a Room Swap form and select the relevant options within the medical section of the form. Please then also open a query with MySurrey Hive via Surrey Support and select “Disability and Neuroinclusion” as your enquiry topic.
