Can I change rooms?

In the event that you are unhappy with your room, there are a number of options available to you.

You may want to opt for a room swap. You can find others wishing to swap on the Room Swap Teams Channel where you and others can post details of your swap. On this channel you will find the room swap form that both of you need to complete.

Room swaps cannot take place until they have been approved so please raise an enquiry with MySurrey Hive via Surrey Support and add “Accommodation” as your enquiry topic as soon as possible once you find someone to swap with. Find out more about swapping rooms.

If you wish to change rooms for other non-medical reasons and you do not have another student who is happy to swap rooms with you, you can make an application to change rooms by completing our Student Accommodation Room Move Request Form and we will consider your request.

If you have medical needs which are not being met by your accommodation, the Disability and Neuroinclusion team may assess your needs and support specific accommodation. You should complete the same Student Accommodation Room Move Request Form and select the relevant options within the medical section of the form. Please then also open a query with MySurrey Hive via Surrey Support and select “Disability and Neuroinclusion” as your enquiry topic.
