Can I change rooms?

In the event that you are unhappy with your room, there are a number of options available to you.

You may want to opt for a room swap. You can find others wishing to swap on the Accommodation Room Swap Teams Channel where you and others can post details of your swap. On this channel you will also find the Request a Room Swap form that both of you need to complete. Further guidance on what information is required is available when you complete the form. This way you give consent that you both would like to swap rooms. You should then send this completed form to the MySurrey Hive team via Surrey Support and select "Accommodation" as your enquiry topic. 

Once Accommodation has received your room swap form, we will check if it is possible. Room swaps cannot take place unless they have been approved.

If you do not have another student who is happy to swap rooms with you, you can still make an application to change rooms by completing the Student Move Request form and we will consider your request.

If you need a change to your accommodation because of a disability or medical condition, such as changes to furniture, lighting, or room location, you should complete the Disability and neuroinclusion Register and Request Support Form, if you have not already done so, and then submit an Additional Request, selecting “Accommodation” as the adjustment type, as early as possible.
