Can I extend an extenuating circumstances (EC) application?
If you have had a 5 day extension to a coursework deadline approved as part of a self-certified EC application, the only way you would be able to extend this further would be by applying for a new evidence based EC application. If successful this will extend the coursework deadline by another 5 working days (one calendar week), to provide an extension of 10 working days in total (from the original deadline).
If you already have a 10 day extension to a coursework deadline approved as part of an evidence based EC, you cannot extend this further using a self-certified EC application.
If you need to extend it beyond 10 days, you would need to submit a new evidence based EC application to request a deferral of the assignment to the next available assessment period or submit a new exceptional evidence EC application to apply to be granted an extension of 5 further working days. Please note this is only ever granted in exceptional circumstances.
