Can I get help paying my rent?

For any student experiencing financial difficulties, we would advise first speaking to us to discuss your situation. You can send your questions to the MySurrey Hive team via Surrey Support, and select "Money and Finance" as your enquiry topic. We can talk through options that may be available to you, including the hardship fund.

Please read the eligibility criteria carefully and upload any relevant documentation if you decide to apply to the Hardship Fund. The Hardship Fund is there to help with living costs, we are not able to provide support for tuition fees.

Please note that an application to the Hardship Fund does not guarantee an award. If you are not sure whether to make an application, or just wish to discuss your situation, please contact the MySurrey team via Surrey Support, and select "Money and Finance" as your enquiry topic. We would also advise speaking to the Housing Advice Team at the Students' Union who can support with how to speak with your landlord about this issue if you are worried a rent payment will be later.
