Can I reject compensation? What are the consequences?
You can reject compensation if you would prefer to retake the assessment. Please note that any retakes will be capped at the assessment pass mark.
If you are a final year student, you should also be aware that by rejecting compensation, you will need to resit the assessment/s in the Late Summer Assessment (LSA) period. This will mean that you would not be eligible to attend the graduation ceremony in July with your cohort as you would not have been awarded by this point. If you pass your resit assessments in the LSA, you would be invited to the next undergraduate graduation ceremony which is usually in July the following year.
If you are not a final year student and opt to reject compensation following a resit in the LSA, please be aware that this could lead to course suspension if this means you have over 15 credits outstanding at the end of the academic year. Only 15 credits (one module) can be trailed into the next academic year.
