Can I take my exams elsewhere?
If you have an in-person exam then you must sit your exam at the University in the specified exam location, unless you are an overseas distance learning student, or you have exceptional approved extenuating circumstances permitting you to sit at another venue in the UK (this option is rarely permitted and would be exceptional).
If you have written exams, you need to be on campus to take them.
If you have online remote exams then you can sit these at home or on campus, wherever you are most comfortable. If your exams are online but invigilated (you will have been allocated to a room on campus) then you need to be on campus, in that designated room to take them. They cannot be taken elsewhere.
If you are unable to attend your exam you can apply for extenuating circumstances (EC’s) which if approved will allow you to defer your exam to the next available reassessment opportunity. Please bear in mind that if you are a final year student this may lead to a delay to your final award and you may not be able to attend your intended graduation ceremony with your cohort.
