How can I apply to live on campus or in a specific type of room due to my medical or disability needs?
If you have a disability or medical need to live on campus throughout your studies, or if you require specific accommodation or adaptions made to your accommodation, you should contact MySurrey Hive via Surrey Support and select "Disability and Neuroinclusion" as your enquiry topic to request a Preferential Accommodation Request form.
This form comprises:
- A print-optimised version of the Preferential Accommodation Request
- An electronic version of the Preferential Accommodation Request
- A medical evidence form that can be printed and completed by your GP
- A consent form.
Although you do not need to complete and return all parts of this file, your Preferential Accommodation Request must contain:
- Information on what request is being made
- Medical evidence (this may already be on file with Disability and Neuroinclusion)
- Agreement to Terms and Conditions via signature or electronic confirmation
- Agreement to Consent To Share.
A Disability Adviser may need to discuss specific elements of your request with you. Similarly, if you wish to discuss your request before making your application, please contact MySurrey Hive via Surrey Support and select "Disability and Neuroinclusion" as your enquiry topic, or attend one of our drop-in sessions:
Stag Hill – Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays 2pm to 4pm at The Hive, Stag Hill
Manor Park –Tuesdays, Wednesdays 2pm to 4pm at The Hive, Manor Park
If your request is for specific adaptions, ergonomic furniture or equipment, we would recommend contacting us before completing your application.
