How can I explore a diagnosis of autism?
If you think you may be autistic, you can contact the Disability and Neuroinclusion team via Surrey Support to discuss this with a Disability Adviser, who can talk through your circumstances and signpost you to appropriate next steps.
The university cannot refer you directly for an autism assessment, or arrange one for you, but we can advise you on how to contact your GP to investigate this further.
Your GP can refer you for an autism assessment, and in England you may also be able to discuss referrals through the Right to Choose pathway with them.
Waiting times for autism assessments can be lengthy, but if you are referred for a formal diagnosis, Disability and Neuroinclusion can discuss what support may be available to you in the meantime.
If you are unable to access Surrey Support, please contact us via our enquiry form.
