How can I request or reserve a book?
There are quick and easy videos to watch as part of the Library How to guides that show you how to find, borrow and request a book.
To place a request for a book that is part of the Library collections, visit the Library pages and search for a book. Log in (top right) with your IT Username and Password. Select the title of the item you require and click on the request button, complete the short form and confirm your request.
In the "pick up" location, select Main Library and we will put the book on the Reservation Shelves on Level 1. You will receive an automated email notification when the book is ready for you to collect.
If you live off campus and would like the book to be posted to you, select "personal delivery", and include your address in the "comment" section.
If you are requesting a book that is not part of the Library collection, you will need to use the InterLibrary Loan service. Please first of all check whether the item is available in the Library using Surrey Search. Please remember to sign in (top right hand corner of the screen) and use the “Expand Your Search” option to view the interlibrary loan offering.
If you need help, please send your questions to the Library team via Surrey Support, or in person at the Library Welcome Desk (Level 1).
If you are unable to access Surrey Support, please contact us via our enquiry form.
