How can I use artificial intelligence in my studies?
You can use generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, etc., when you are working on your assessments, but the tools may only be used to support, not replace, your work or authorship. All work submitted for assessment must remain your own intellectual output.
You can also speak with an adviser on campus at the Library, or online, either using our drop-in service or by booking an appointment:
Academic Skills and Development drop-ins for quick queries
Academic Skills and Development appointments for more in-depth queries
Our workshop programme also addresses a range of key skills required for university assignments:
You can find the guidance you need on studying with GenAI and information about Surrey-approved tools on our SurreyLearn pages AI - using GenAI tools in your studies.
You can also read our Gen AI student guidance.
