I hold a Biometric Residence Permit which expired at the end of 2024, how do I activate my digital ‘eVisa’ account?

If you hold a Biometric Residence Permit that expired on the 31st December 2024, you must activate your digital visa account in order to prove your status going forward.

The account is free to create through the gov.uk website.

If you have any problems creating your UKVI account, please check through the help information listed on gov.uk in the first instance, or contact the UKVI if you need further support. Unfortunately, the University cannot assist directly with technical issues.

If you have any queries about your University immigration status, please contact the MySurrey Hive team via Surrey Support, and select "International Advice and Visas" as your enquiry topic.

Updating your status with the University

Once you have setup your account, you will need to send us a share code so we can verify your new status and update your student record. The share code can be generated using the View and Prove Service.
When generating the share code, you will be asked what it will be used for; you must select the third option of “Something Else”. If a code is generated using any of the other options, it will not provide the necessary information.

Once you have the share code, login to your Surrey Self-Service Account and paste the code into the Share Code box in the Passport and Visas section of your Registration details. We will then verify your details and update your status. Due to the high volume of share codes to be verified, there may be a delay in updating your information.
