How does the Report + Support anonymous messaging feature work if I have reported something anonymously?
If you have reported something to us anonymously through our Report + Support platform, there is a way that you can follow up on your report, contact us or get additional support without revealing your identity. You can do this by opting into the anonymous two-way messaging feature.
Two-way messaging enables you to anonymously continue communicating with the university after you submit a report. This is especially useful if you want to follow up on your report, ask questions or get additional support without revealing your identity. We can also discuss ways to make it more comfortable for you to come forward and or receive further support if you need it.
How it works
When you submit a report through the Report + Support platform, you will be given the option to opt into “two-way messaging”. This will generate a 16-character code, which you must save to access the messaging system later. This code is the only way to continue your conversation with the university, so make sure to store it safely—there’s no way to recover it if it’s lost.
If you want to check on your report or continue the conversation, use your 16-character code to log back into the Report + Support system. From the Report + Support page click on the “Log in to Messaging” button at the bottom of the page. Here, you can view responses from the university and reply to any messages.
If you are unable to access Surrey Support, please contact us via our enquiry form.
