I want to undertake a PhD or postgraduate research at Surrey, what financial support is available to me?
If you are considering undertaking postgraduate research at Surrey, you can explore the financial support available to you as part of a Studentship. A Studentship is a form of financial support for doctoral research. Often referred to in the UK as a PhD Studentship, it can cover tuition fees and living costs, and may also provide additional funding for materials and equipment.
Existing students at Surrey can access our Studentship Guidance and Information pages from our Doctoral College PGR Information Centre.
General information can be found on our Studentships page. The university provides a list of current opportunities for research funding and most of our studentship awards are advertised here. You can also find out more by viewing our Studentship FAQ’s.
