Should I submit an academic appeal or an extenuating circumstances application?
The University will not consider an academic appeal in relation to unratified results (this means results that have not yet been formally agreed by the Examination Board). These are released on official results days. If your marks have not been ratified you may consider an application for extenuating circumstances. Once your marks have been ratified you can then submit an academic appeal if you remain dissatisfied.
For more information on extenuating circumstances, view our extenuating circumstances page.
