What bereavement support is available through the Religious Life and Belief Centre?

At the Religious Life and Belief Centre, we offer bereavement counselling for students in need, including one-to-one support. We are aware that in addition to bereavement needs, certain faiths and worldviews have mourning rituals that require students to take time off at short notice. Our Chaplains are here to help support our students to do this so that they can mourn loved ones or support those close family members at a time of mourning.

We also run a Bereavement Cafe, in partnership with the Student Union, for those on the journey of bereavement which usually takes place on Wednesday afternoons in Manor Park Social.

We also provide individual pastoral support through our chaplains who can be contacted through the MySurrey Hive team on Surrey Support.

If you would like to mark the life of somebody who was a member of the campus community, you can do so by having a leaf on the Tree of Life memorial installed.
