What is a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and how does the process work for my health sciences placement?

All health sciences students are required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and sign up for the DBS Update Service (for which there is an additional charge). You can find more information about the process on the DBS website. You will also need to get a Police Check for every country you have lived in for 6 months or more over the last 5 years. Please see the link for the specific guidance for your country. You cannot start placement without a Police Check in place.
