Why do I need to set up MFA and self-service password reset?
The first time you log into a Surrey service you will be prompted to set up multi-factor authentication (MFA) and self-service password reset.
MFA adds an additional layer of security by prompting users to approve logins using a secondary device. This additional authentication will only take place every 14 days (if you are not using a University-managed Windows device) or if unusual activity is suspected on your account.
To set up MFA please follow the instructions in the quick start guide (PDF) or watch the instructional video.
