Are there any advice or drop-in sessions for assistance with my extenuating circumstances application?
You can find out more on how to submit your application our Extenuating Circumstances (EC) pages. We also have a list of commonly asked EC FAQs on our MySurrey Help pages. Before applying it is strongly recommended that you first discuss this with your personal tutor / student success coach or MySurrey Hive to ensure you fully understand the implications of this process for your circumstances. For example, a final year student whose extenuating circumstances outcome would defer an exam or test to the next available assessment opportunity may not be able to complete their programme or graduate until the following year.
If you need help with an application during assessment periods, the Students’ Union offer ‘EC’s Quick Query’ and ‘Extenuating Circumstances Drop-in sessions’. You can view details on their What’s On calendar. You can also book a one-to-one session using the bookable EC advice slots if you need help. These are only available during exam periods. At other times you can also email the Students’ Union or visit the MySurrey Hive for help.
