Can I get an academic reference?
You can generate your own letter confirming you are a student at Surrey using the University Letters page on Surrey Support.
Here you will be able to request a "Confirmation of Registration" letter which will confirm your start date, your expected end date and the name of the course you are studying.
If you require a character reference, please contact your personal tutor directly. The MySurrey Hive cannot provide character references or fill out web portal references.
The University of Surrey can no longer accept reference requests or education verification requests via email, telephone or fax from former students. All third party reference requests should be managed through Higher Education Degree datacheck (HEDD) and their online verification service.
HEDD is for employers, agencies, universities, embassies and councils who wish to verify whether a candidate is a past student of a university or college, the award and grade they received, and their dates of attendance.
