Do I have to use MySurrey Attendance? Is it mandatory?

The University's attendance policy expects you to attend your timetabled teaching sessions and you are strongly encouraged to use MySurrey Attendance to check-in to your classes.

Using MySurrey Attendance enables you to reflect on your attendance in a similar way to the rich data available on your MySurrey Engagement dashboard.

MySurrey Engagement is used by personal tutors and student success coaches to reach out to all students and provide additional support if required, but it also gives you an opportunity to self-reflect.

But we want to emphasise that these resources are there to give you useful feedback and allow you to make decisions to give you the best chance of success. If you are feeling anxious about your attendance we would recommend contacting your Personal Tutor or Student Success Coach in the first instance.
