How can I apply to stay in university accommodation over the summer due to my disability or medical needs?

You are welcome to stay on campus during the winter and spring vacations, as your room is yours for the duration of your licence agreement.

If you wish to stay in university accommodation during the summer vacation, you must apply for a summer vacation extension through the Accommodation team.

Please note that, if you are offered an extension and are currently living in university accommodation, you may be required to move to a different flat for the summer extension period. It cannot be guaranteed that you will be able to stay in the same flat. Offers are usually sent out by the end of May.

Disability and Neuroinclusion can only support requests relating to summer accommodation, such as continuation of a room subsidy, where there is a direct study-related need. For example, this may apply if you are required to be on campus for exams during the late summer assessment period. If you think this applies to you, please contact the MySurrey Hive team via Surrey Support, selecting “Disability and Neuroinclusion” as your enquiry topic for further guidance.
