How do I get Occupational Health Clearance for my clinical placement?

If your course requires occupational health (OH) clearance, an appointment will be made for you just before you start or during the first few weeks. You need to have been cleared by OH before you commence any placements.

If you are delayed in gaining OH clearance or declared unfit by OH, then you will not be permitted to start in practice and your programme may be interrupted. If you cannot attend the scheduled OH appointment provided to you, you will need to notify the Occupational Health team immediately and reschedule. If you miss your appointment without prior notification you may be charged for the rescheduled appointment. You can contact the Cordell Occupational Health team by email or by calling them on 01483 957200.

If you need any adjustments for placement you will also need an OH report. Please speak to your personal tutor in the first instance who will be able to advise you in the event that you have experienced any changes to your health, including pregnancy.
