How do I make sure my flatmates do their washing up?

If you have flatmates that are not helping to keep the kitchen tidy and not doing their washing up, the best thing to do is to talk to your flatmates about this. You could emphasise the importance of keeping the sides and the sink clear for the cleaners to clean. Nobody will do the washing up for you, and sometimes you can even be fined if the state of your kitchen gets too bad!

You could also try suggesting that together you create a cleaning rota and take it in turns to ensure the washing up gets done. Also, try talking to your Residential Advisor who may be able to offer you some further suggestions or get you together as a group to talk about the issue.  

You can contact the Residential Advisor team when they visit your flat each week. They will also be available to chat to all students at community building events and promotional stands throughout the year, so you are welcome to say hello and ask them questions.
