How will learning how to use artificial intelligence help my career?

Employers will not just need graduates who can use generative artificial intelligence (GenAI). They will need graduates who can check it, explain it and make responsible decisions with it. Many industries now expect graduates to use GenAI to analyse information, automate routine tasks and draft or summarise content as well as interact with GenAI responsibly and ethically. That means knowing how to create with AI, test it, spot risks, recognise when not to use it and make sound decisions. At Surrey, you will be taught judge GenAI through our own disciplinary standards which are tailored and adapted to the course you are studying. This will help you learn to evaluate what is accurate, ethical, useful and fit for purpose within your subject.
