I am an international student who is considering taking a temporary withdrawal. Would this impact my visa?
If you are an international student looking to take a temporary withdrawal of under 60 days then the University will continue to maintain sponsorship of your Student visa, provided your programme of study can still be completed within the remaining time on your existing visa.
However, if the period is longer than 60 days, or your new programme end date will be after the expiry of your visa, then the University will report this to the Home Office who will then take steps to curtail your visa.
Due to the fixed teaching pattern of our taught programmes, flexibility to take tailored absences of under 60 days is usually limited to our Postgraduate Research students.
