I have concerns regarding the student experience. What do I do?
Although we try to ensure that you have a positive experience whilst at the University, situations may arise in which you feel dissatisfied with the service provided. In these situations, you may wish to make a complaint. Before making a complaint about your student experience, it is important to make sure you have read the University's Procedure for Complaints.
You are advised to raise your complaint informally and as quickly as possible with the relevant tutor, supervisor or other appropriate person within your School or Department if your complaint is related to your course or with the person or team providing the service if your complaint is related to a service. A complaint by a student after the passage of weeks or months, or at the end of their programme, is likely to be more difficult to pursue and resolve than one made near to the time the poor service or support was experienced.
If this first informal stage does not address the issue, you may progress the complaint to the formal stage through the Office for Student Complaints, Appeals and Regulations (OSCAR). For more information on complaints, including how to submit a complaint, please visit our Complaints page.
