I have failed some modules, when can I retake them?

If you have failed 60 credits or less after the first and second semester exams, you will be eligible to resit these in the Late Summer Assessment (LSA) period. Postgraduate (February starters) also have the opportunity to resit failed modules in their Spring Reassessment period.

After the LSA if you have no more than one failed 15 credit module, you can progress to your next year of study and you will have the opportunity to resit your failed module (during the semester that the failed assessments were originally taken).

However, if after the LSA, you have still failed more than 15 credits worth of modules, you will be course suspended. You will not be able to progress to the next stage of your programme until you have passed your current level of study. You will need to pass your outstanding units of assessment in the next academic year, with or without attendance. You will be contacted following mark release to confirm which mode of attendance you wish to take.

It is only possible to trail up to 15 credits into your next year of study and any further failed credits (after the LSA) would lead to course suspension.

Submitting extenuating circumstances for the LSA and deferring resits of more than one module to the next academic year may also lead to course suspension if you are carrying more than the 15 credits permitted to progress into the next year of your course.
