I will be on placement next year. As a disabled student, can I request to live in campus accommodation?

Students on a placement year are not usually eligible for on-campus accommodation. However, if you need to stay on campus due to a disability or medical condition, we may be able to consider your request in exceptional circumstances.

You should complete our Register and Request Support Form, if you have not already done so, and then submit an Additional Request, selecting “Accommodation” as the adjustment type, as early as possible. Please provide supporting evidence that explains why campus accommodation is needed during your placement year. You should also include information about your placement, such as location and any relevant travel or access considerations. You may be asked to meet with a Disability Adviser to discuss your request in more detail. 

If we are able to support your request, we will inform the Accommodation team, who will consider this in line with their allocation policy, availability, and accommodation processes. On-campus accommodation cannot always be guaranteed.
