If I am a full-time student with "assessment only" status, do I still qualify for the council tax exemption?
If you are a full-time student with "assessment only" status and your course itself is still full time, you can still apply for council tax exemption.
You will still need to provide your local authority with a letter confirming your student status as you have done in previous years. You can use our Surrey Support 'University Letters' page to generate a "Confirmation of Registration" letter confirming that you are a student. This letter will confirm your start date, your expected end date and the name of the course you are studying. This can then be used to apply for a council tax exemption from your local authority.
