If I want to invite guests from outside the European Economic Area to my graduation ceremony, will they need to apply for a visa?

If you want to invite family members or friends from outside of the European Economic Area (or Switzerland) to come to the UK for your graduation ceremony, they will need to apply for a Standard Visitor Visa.

Please note that the International Student Advice team do not provide invitation letters for students inviting guests to the graduation ceremony. We advise that you book tickets for the ceremony online. The email booking confirmation can be used by your guests to support their travel application.
