If my academic appeal is accepted, when can I return to my programme, what evidence do I need and what are the fee implications?

An academic appeal decision is typically amended within 10 University working days from the date you receive your outcome. However, your return to your course could be dependent on other factors which would be detailed in the communication you receive from the MySurrey Hive team.

If you are unsure about anything please email the Office of Student Complaints, Appeals and Regulation (OSCAR) team for further clarification on your case.

Evidence

The evidence you will need will depend on your individual case. In some cases students are not required to provide any evidence to return to their course following a successful appeal. However, in other instances students must provide evidence from a medical practitioner confirming their support to study. This will be detailed in the outcome letter.

Fees

If you choose to resit the year with attendance there will be fee implications. It is your responsibility to check this by contacting the MySurrey Hive team via Surrey Support, and select 'Money and Finance’ as your enquiry topic. The team will be able to advise you on the specific amount depending on your individual situation.
