What are the eligibility criteria for receiving a parking permit?
Please see below for all of our permit options and eligibility criteria which you should read before you apply for a parking permit.
Students living in university accommodation
To qualify for a Stag Hill & Manor Park Residents Permit you must:
Live in university-managed accommodation, and
Meet at least one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Proven medical need supported by documentation - use the 'Preferential Parking Request Form' available on the Disability & Neuroinclusion Team's Sharepoint page (see the link at the bottom of this Sharepoint page)
Proven caring or childcare commitments (we only consider needs for children of 13 years and under)
Mandatory short-term placement during this academic year (lasting less than the full year)
Enrolment in the Dual Career Athlete Scheme
Commuting students living in GU1 or GU2 postcodes
If you commute to campus and live in a GU1 or GU2 postcode, you must meet one of the following eligibility criteria to be considered for a Pay As You Go (PAYG) (including Accessible) Permit:
Proven medical need supported by documentation - use the 'Preferential Parking Request Form' available on the Disability & Neuroinclusion Team's Sharepoint page (see the link at the bottom of this Sharepoint page)
Proven caring or childcare commitments (we only consider needs for children of 13 years and under)
Enrolment in the Dual Career Athlete Scheme
Commuting students living outside GU1 and GU2 postcodes
If you live outside the GU1 and GU2 postcodes, you will generally be eligible for a Pay As You Go (PAYG) (including Accessible) Permit. Applications will be checked against student records to verify residential addresses.
Blue Badge holders
If you are a Blue Badge holder, you are entitled to free parking at the University. However, you will need to register to be eligible for this.
Applications will also be checked against student records. Only residents meeting these criteria will be eligible for a permit. All applications will be considered on their merits and parking will not be issued on a first come, first served basis.
