What is compensation?
Compensation is a process of adjustment that may take place following the failure of a module. If your overall performance compensates for your module failure, you may be able to progress to the next level or stage of your programme or be awarded.
Where compensation is applied, the mark recorded is the aggregate module mark, including the mark for the failed unit of assessment. Your HEAR will show that the module has been passed.
Full details of the compensation procedure are shown in A1: Regulations for Taught Programmes (PDF).
