What is the difference between an academic appeal and an academic misconduct appeal?

An academic misconduct appeal can only be submitted if you have been through the academic misconduct process. For more details, including how to appeal, view the Academic Misconduct and Appeals page

Meanwhile, academic appeals can be submitted for the following reasons:

  • Academic progress decisions, such as a decision to terminate your course
  • Decisions on your credits or marks, or if a doctoral degree, your degree classification or outcome
  • A penalty for failing to make progress including programme termination
  • An outcome of an extenuating circumstances application.

For more details view our academic appeals page.

Students have 10 University working days to submit any type of appeal.
