What happens if the module I need to resit or take after absence has been discontinued?

If you need to resit a module, or are returning from a temporary withdrawal, you may find that the original module that you had chosen is no longer available. This does sometimes happen. Our curriculums are reviewed annually, and some modules may be discontinued. Therefore, if you need to retake a module that is no longer running, you can, (in most cases), still take the module and the assessments associated with it, including exams, but you will be required to complete these without attending classes. You won’t be charged any additional fees if you are resitting this, and you’ll still have access to the original module area on SurreyLearn available during the year you originally selected it.

If you are returning from temporary withdrawal, it is advised that you notify us as soon as possible of your intention to return. Our academic teams will require sufficient notice and to have available the necessary expertise to prepare the assessments if you are resitting a discontinued module.
