What percentage does each year of university contribute to my final degree?

The weightings for each year of our Undergraduate honours and integrated Master's courses are provided within our Regulations for our taught programmes.

For the 2025-26 academic year, these weightings are outlined in the “Classification of undergraduate honours degrees and integrated Master’s degrees” section of our A1: Regulations for taught programmes.

If you are a graduating undergraduate student on an Honours or Integrated Masters degree programme, and your award classification result falls within 2% of a degree classification boundary, you may, subject to Professional, Statutory or Regulatory Body (PSRB) requirements, be considered for a classification uplift. In such cases, we will review your academic performance at your final level of study and consider eligibility for this. More details are available on our Academic regulations page.

If you are an undergraduate student in your first year, the marks you achieve will not contribute to your final degree. However, you will need to achieve an overall pass in order to progress to your second year.
