What risk assessment do I need to fill out for my clinical placement abroad and where can I find it?
The Risk Assessment is a compulsory document for a clinical placement abroad, to help you consider the practical elements of going abroad.
You must complete and submit a signed Risk Assessment before undertaking any study, research or work placements abroad, no matter how long the duration.
Risks vary between different regions and cities. If you are doing multiple placements, you will need to complete a risk assessment for each region or city.
You can find further guidance as well as the Risk Assessment form templates that you need to complete on our Sharepoint pages. Please ensure you are completing the correct risk assessment. An enhanced risk assessment will need to be reviewed and approved by the International Engagement Office (IEO).
If you are a veterinary student, an annual risk and insurance declaration needs to be signed prior to completing all EMS placements.
Do not make any financial commitments until you have received email confirmation from the International Engagement Office that your trip has been approved for travel, and you have applied for Personal Accident and Travel Insurance cover via TravelCert.
