When can I be referred to a MySurrey Hive Case Coordinator?

The MySurrey Hive Case Coordinator Team act as a second line of support for students who may need more coordinated help or pastoral care and guidance. Their role is to make sure you receive the right support at the right time. You may be referred to the team for one of the reasons explained below.

Complex challenges

You may be referred to a Case Coordinator if you are experiencing multiple issues that place your academic progression or retention at risk. These issues might relate to your academics, accommodation, visa, finance, wellbeing or other areas of university life.

A referral can come from the MySurrey Hive, student services or academic staff such as Personal Tutors or Senior Personal Tutors. When this happens, the Case Coordinator will help bring together the different support services and act as your single point of communication while you are receiving support.

Non-engagement and attendance

You may also be referred if your engagement or attendance falls below expected thresholds and you have not been responding to your Personal Tutor, Senior Personal Tutor or Student Success Coach.

In this situation, a referral is made through MySurrey Engagement to the Case Coordinators. Who will then step in to support you in re-engaging with your studies where possible, by helping identify any barriers you may be experiencing and connecting you with appropriate support services.
